Each student enrolling, regardless of program/course, is required to present proof of completion of high school or its equivalent.

Each student must be 18 years of age or older. Each student must have a valid state or federal issued photo ID.

The school does not enroll Ability to Benefit students.

Physical Demands

Be aware of these facts in addition, applicants and students should be aware that during this enrollment and/or entering the career field. The work can be arduous and physically demanding because of long hours standing. There will be exposure to chemicals and fumes, which may cause allergic reactions or could be harmful if used incorrectly. The practice of safety and sanitation is essential for effective and successful performance within the industry. Methods of compensation vary and may include salary, salary plus commission, commission, sliding scale commission, hourly, retail commission or independent contracting (renting space and equipment from an existing salon).

Educational Accommodations

Accommodations may be available. The Director is responsible for coordinating compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. · Applicants who are persons with disabilities, as defined in paragraph 104.3(j) of the regulation under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, must meet all standard admissions requirements. The School will work with the applicant or student to determine whether any request for reasonable accommodations can be effective and/or are available. If a student or prospective student would like to request academic adjustment or auxiliary aids, they should contact the director at any time. Any qualified individual requesting an accommodation or auxiliary aid or service should follow this procedure:

Notify the School’s Director in writing of the type of accommodation needed, date needed, documentation of the nature and extent of the disability, and of the need for the accommodation or auxiliary aid. The request should be made at least four weeks in advance of the date needed. All requests must be in writing, no verbal requests will be considered.

The Director will respond with a decision within two weeks of receiving the accommodation request.

If you would like to appeal the decision regarding your request, please contact Trish Anderson at (479) 782-5059 with all the previously requested information. Appeals must be submitted within one week of the date of the Director’s response.
Veterans Training Academy of Salon and Spa programs of study are approved for veterans and dependents training.
